Is there anything too hard for God?

Possible.png

In preparing for God’s visions for our lives for the year ahead, my church Transformation Church (TC), has undertaken a 21-Day of Fasting. In beginning my journey, I prayed and randomly selected a Bible App plan about vision to guide me on my journey.

Day 1 gave the story of the 12 Israelites who were sent to explore Canaan. Only 2 returned with a glowing report and a confidence of victory. Numbers 13:27-29 tells the perspective of the remaining 10 spies.

This was their report to Moses: “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak! The Amalekites live in the Negev, and the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country. The Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and along the Jordan Valley.”

The spies shied away from the bountiful blessing that God intended for them because they perceived the inhabitants of the land to be stronger and more fortified than they were.

Does this sound familiar? “Lord, I am not ready. I am not strong enough! There are others who a better and more qualified than I am! If I go, they will surely see that I am a fraud!”

It should ring a bell! Day after day whenever God approaches us with his vision for us, our responses are centred around our feelings of our own inadequancy. We forget that there is nothing to hard for God.

A QUICK STORY

In 2005, I started high school. My mom struggled to find lunch money for me daily. But God was already working things out long before we even knew there would be a need. Before leaving primary school, I caught the attention of the vice principal. Through her, her sister took an interest in me. Unbeknownst to my mother, her sister lobbied on my behalf at her place of employment. One day, shortly after beginning school, I was called to the guidance counsellor’s office. Through the sister’s lobbying, two total strangers committed to giving me lunch money for the remainder of my high school tenure.

THE POINT OF THE QUICK STORY

As I sat in the stillness, awaiting God’s voice, He reminded me of this aspect of my story.

With God at the forefront, the “im” in “impossible” becomes “I’m Possible!”. Trust the visions God has for you and the journey they require. Even though to the natural eye, there may be many things to fear, trust Him because there is not too hard for Him. He places us where we should be and has long ago put measures into play to ensure we come out on top.

So, is there anything too hard for God? No, there is not!

Bible in 365 Days – Day 55

Day 55

Focus Chapters:

  • Leviticus 23-24
  • Leviticus 25:1-23

Standout Verse(s):

Leviticus 25:18-22 NLT

“If you want to live securely in the land, follow my decrees and obey my regulations. Then the land will yield large crops, and you will eat your fill and live securely in it. But you might ask, ‘What will we eat during the seventh year, since we are not allowed to plant or harvest crops that year?’ Be assured that I will send my blessing for you in the sixth year, so the land will produce a crop large enough for three years. When you plant your fields in the eighth year, you will still be eating from the large crop of the sixth year. In fact, you will still be eating from that large crop when the new crop is harvested in the ninth year.

Observation (s):

  1. Our ability to adhere to God’s decrees and regulations activates His ability to protect and bless us.

“If you want to live securely in the land, follow my decrees and obey my regulations. Then the land will yield large crops, and you will eat your fill and live securely in it.

  2. Following God’s directions secures a blessing that covers us in our time of need and 2 seasons beyond that season of need. He makes provisions ahead of time.

Application:

Follow me for a moment. Imagine, our parents directed us to take a specific route to and from school daily. Based on the time school begins and ends, the length of the journey and any extra-curricular activities we may undertake, our parents have a pretty good estimate of what time we will arrive and depart and where we will be and therefore, can plan for us accordingly. Their plans might involve having someone meet us halfway, have someone awaiting us at the house or they themselves putting in an appearance. Now, imagine, we deviate from that route? Our parents’ original plans for our arrivals and departures are no longer applicable. In fact even if they do go as planned, our deviation from the route means that we may not be there to see it occur.

God likes to make plans for us. These plans come to physical fruition because of our fulfilment of our part of the deals He has made with us. If we keep his decrees and follow His regulations then He will protect us and bless us mightily. If we deliver on our end of the bargain then we will see God delivering on His. Even if the route He has directed us to looks barren and empty, still proceed. Like the parents above, He has already made provisions for us ahead of your barren season. In fact, His provisions will carry you through the 7th, 8th and 9th years. This covers your season of need and flows over into your seasons of planting and reaping.
